Engage

1. Obtain the objects from the Engage Activity Master (Spanish version).

2. Play the video. Pause as needed.

3. Sort the objects into two categories: objects with symmetry and objects with no symmetry.

4. Share the reasoning you used as you sorted your objects.

5. Use the video to check your answers.

Explore

1. Obtain the Explore Activity Master (Spanish version) and the Explore Activity Sheet (Spanish version).

2. Cut out the objects on the Explore Activity Master.

3. Play the video. Pause as necessary to work on the activity.

4. Answer the debriefing questions.

5. Display the Explore Activity Answers (Spanish version) if desired.

Explain

1. Obtain the objects that were cut out from the Explore Activity Master.

2. Play the video, pausing when indicated to complete the first activity.

3. Sort the objects according to the number of lines of symmetry that each object has.

4. Continue the video. Pause the video to answer the Journal Entry questions in your Math Journal, then compare your answer to the sample answers in the video.

5. Complete the Explain Independent Practice Activity (Spanish version).

6. Display the Explain Independent Practice Answers (Spanish version) if desired.

Elaborate

1. Obtain a Geoboard and bands.

2. Play the video. Pause as directed.

3. Answer the debriefing questions in your Math Journal.

Evaluate

Procedure:

1. Display the questions or provide a printed copy of the Evaluation Questions (Spanish version) for each student.

2. Use the Evaluate Answer Key (Spanish version) as necessary.

Independent Practice

After the Evaluate questions, try some Independent Practice (Spanish version). 

Check your Answers (Spanish version).

Lesson Quiz

As a summative assessment, use the Lesson Quiz (Spanish version). 

The Lesson Quiz Answer Key shows correct answers and contains a TEKS alignment for each question.
