Engage

Procedure:
1. Play the video for the class.

2. Follow the directions in the Engage Answer Key (Spanish version) to facilitate one of the counting activities.

3. Assist students as needed as they complete the activity, using counters as necessary.
 

Explore

1. Provide students with the Explore Activity Sheet (Spanish version).

2. Play the video for the class.

3. Follow the directions on the Explore Answer Key (Spanish version) to facilitate the number line, linking cube, and 100 chart activity. Distribute linking cubes when prompted.

4. Assist students as needed as they complete the activity.

5. If desired, display the Explore Answer Key to show students possible answers.

6. Use the debriefing questions to guide a class discussion.

 

Explain

1. Provide students with the Explain Activity Sheet (Spanish version) and transparent counters.

2. Play the video.

3. To differentiate for the struggling learner, provide students with the Mission Support Sheet.

4. Facilitate students as needed.

5. If desired, display the Explain Answer Key (Spanish version) to show students possible answers.
 

Elaborate

1. Provide each student with a plastic bag of coins and the Money Mat (Elaborate Activity Master, Spanish Version).

2. Play the video.

3. To differentiate for the struggling learner, provide students with the Mission Support Sheet.

4. Have students sort the coins using the Money Mat.

5. Facilitate students as needed.

6. If desired, display the Elaborate Answer Key (Spanish version) to show students possible answers.

7. Use the debriefing questions in the video to guide a class discussion.

Evaluate

Procedure:

1. Display the questions or provide a printed copy of the Evaluation Questions (Spanish version) for each student.

2. Use the Evaluate Answer Key (Spanish version) as necessary.

Independent Practice

After the Evaluate questions, try some Independent Practice (Spanish version). 

Check your Answers (Spanish version).

Lesson Quiz

As a summative assessment, use the Lesson Quiz (Spanish version). 

The Lesson Quiz Answer Key shows correct answers and contains a TEKS alignment for each question.
